The expectations generated by the orensano Ivan Salgado, 18, runner-up youth, have been confirmed with his 9 th place in the European Championship Absolute ending in Rijeka (Croatia).

Salgado, seeded No. 100, got a score that will qualify for the World Cup, where 64 players will fight to claim the world title.

Salgado, who won with black pieces in the eleventh and final round the Pole Bartlomiej Macieja, finished the competition with a record of 6 wins, 4 tables and 1 loss. A performance that will bring about 14 Elo points, with a performance close to the 2700.
